But over the years, I’ve come to realize that the heart of true teaching lies in something quieter—  listening. Listening is not just a passive act. It’s a powerful tool that deepens our connection with our students. When I pause and truly listen—whether to a question, a concern, or even a moment of silence—I begin to understand more than just their words. I begin to see their fears, their strengths, their motivations, and their potential. Sometimes, a student doesn’t need an immediate answer. They need to be heard. When I give them that space, I often discover insights that no textbook could ever teach me. Their stories, perspectives, and experiences enrich my own learning as a teacher.
